Speakers Biography:

Huy Nguyen Trieu
Co-Founder of CFTE

Huy Nguyen Trieu is the Co-Founder of CFTE. He is also the CEO of The Disruptive Group, a business builder and advisory firm in innovation and finance, and Venture Partner at Mundi Ventures, an early-stage VC fund in Fintech and Insurtech. He believes that in a world led by technology, we shouldn’t forget the importance of people, which is why he co-founded CFTE to help people improve their skills and find opportunities.

Prior to setting up CFTE, Huy was a Managing Director at Citi, and previously at Royal Bank of Scotland and Société Générale. Before banking, he was the CEO of Ukibi, a VC-funded startup in the US. He is a frequent keynote speaker in Europe and Asia, likes to teach and share with students and entrepreneurs, and is regularly quoted in articles on innovation and finance.

He writes the blog Disruptive Finance, is an Entrepreneurship Expert at Oxford Said Entrepreneurship Centre and a Fintech Fellow at the Centre for Global Finance and Technology at Imperial College. He was also a member of ESMA’s Consultative Working Group for financial innovation and a founding member of the Asian SuperCharger, one of the largest Fintech accelerators in Asia.

Huy is a graduate from MIT (US), École Polytechnique (France) and Ecole des Ponts et Chaussees (France). He is married and a happy father of 3 daughters.

Dr. Sajjad Khoshroo
Founding Partner, Sage Strategy

Sajjad provides legal, compliance & regulatory advice to funds, corporates, start-ups and investors in the energy transition, crypto, blockchain & Web3 space (with particular interest in DeFi, NFTs and solar bitcoin mining). He is a Harvard and Oxford educated, English and New York law qualified lawyer with a geeky streak and a 15-year track record gained in-house and at top tier US and Magic Circle law firms.

Patrik Schumacher
Principal of Zaha Hadid Architects

Patrik Schumacher is principal of Zaha Hadid Architects. He joined Zaha Hadid in 1988 and was seminal in developing Zaha Hadid Architects to become a 500 strong global architecture and design brand. Patrik Schumacher studied philosophy, mathematics and architecture in Bonn, Stuttgart and London. He received his Diploma in architecture in 1990.  He has been a ZHA partner since 2003 and a co-author on all projects. In 2010 Patrik Schumacher won the Royal Institute of British Architects’ Stirling Prize for excellence in architecture together with Zaha Hadid. He is an academician of the Berlin Academy of Arts.

In 1996 he founded the Design Research Laboratory at the Architectural Association in London where he continues to teach. In 1999 he completed his PHD at the Institute for Cultural Science, Klagenfurt University. Patrik Schumacher is lecturing worldwide and over the last 20 years he has contributed over 100 articles to architectural journals and anthologies. In 2008 he coined the phrase Parametricism and has since published a series of manifestos promoting Parametricism as the new epochal style for the 21st century. In 2010/2012 he published his two-volume theoretical opus magnum “The Autopoiesis of Architecture”. Patrik Schumacher is widely recognized as one of the most prominent thought leaders within the fields of architecture, urbanism and design. His research interest focusses on designing and simulating real and virtual environments (and their fusion) with the goal to increase their power to engender and facilitate productive communicative interactions.

Ross Westgate

Ross is a media entrepreneur, T.V producer, broadcaster, journalist and moderator who has over 28 years’ experience in global media. His broadcast career began with Dow Jones and followed with the global business channel, CNBC, where he launched the world’s first tri-anchored, transcontinental daily live newscast programme Worldwide Exchange - a show which he hosted from inception in 2006.

Ross left CNBC to become CEO of Infinity Creative Media in 2014, a newly formed television studio producing high-end factual entertainment and live ‘TV’ events, which has distributed shows in over 160 countries. He’ s Executive Producer of The Wine Show (ITV & CH5), The Art Show (Sky), The Football Show (Sky) and The Best FIFA Football Awards 2017 & 2018 (BBC, ITV & Sky).

In 2020, he co-founded and launched The Talent Bank, a digital first agency producing talent led content and marketing across YouTube, social media and streaming platforms. Ross is also proud to be an Advisor and Ambassador for the European Nature Trust, connecting people to wild nature for the protection and restoration of European wilderness.
