Iranian Art: Where is the market headed?

Roxane Zand - Harvard and Oxford educated, Roxane began her career at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts, subsequently moving to the UK to work in the non-profit arts sector. She has served a variety of institutions such as the British Museum and Asia House, and joined Sotheby's in 2006 to lead its presence in the Middle East. In March 2020, she left Sotheby's as Deputy Chairman to start her own consultancy, Zandfinearts. She continues to sit on a number of MENA Boards, and advises the non-profit sector.


Rebecca Anne Proctor - Rebecca is the former Editor-in-Chief of Harper's Bazaar Art and Harper's Bazaar Interiors, a role she held since January 2015. She is now an independent journalist and broadcaster covering contemporary art and current affairs in the Middle East and Africa. Her writing has been published in The New York Times Style Magazine; Bloomberg Businessweek, Architectural Digest US, FriezeBBCThe Art NewspaperThe ForwardThe National, ArtNews and The Business of Fashion. She is an international consultant and regularly writes texts for books on Middle Eastern and African art and culture. Rebecca obtained her M. Litt from Christie’s London in Modern and Contemporary Art History after which she worked at Gagosian Gallery before moving to Paris to pursue a double MA in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies and Conflict Resolution from the American University of Paris and a Master’s in Sociology of Conflicts from the L’Institut Catholique, also in Paris.


Maryam Eisler - A graduate of Wellesley College and Columbia University, Maryam is a London based photographer and author. Her photographic work is represented by Tristan Hoare in London and Harper’s Books in New York. She has additionally shown at Photo London, Dallas Art Fair, Unseen Amsterdam, Space Gallery St Barth, Bermondsey Project Space, and Art Marbella. Maryam is a contributing editor to LUX magazine, a Condé Nast title as well as contributed to Vanity FairHarpers Bazaar ArtHarpers Bazaar Interiors and Vogue Arabia. Maryam sits on the advisory board of Photo London, is a nominator for the Prix Pictet photography prize, and is an ambassador for Unseen Amsterdam photo fair. A Tate International Council member, Maryam co-chaired Tate’s MENAAC from 2010 to 2020. She was a trustee of the Whitechapel gallery from 2015 to 2020 and a former member of the Guggenheim Middle East Circle. Maryam is a founding member of the British Museum CaMMEA group, sits on the advisory council of the Delfina Foundation and is a member of the Royal Academy.
