The Reality of Industry & Engineering in Iran:
A European Executive's Perspective!

Nigel Coulthard, is a specialist in International Management particularly in complex multicultural environments in the High-Tech Industry and Engineering sectors. He has held engineering, business development and senior general management responsibilities in large international industrial groups, notably in the Semiconductor, Electronics and Power Engineering industries in both the UK and France, where he managed several industrial and commercial companies and subsidiaries. Prior to founding Luzigneul Management Enterprises he was the ALSTOM group Country President in IRAN.

Born in Wales, Nigel was educated in Great Britain and France where he presently lives. He has also spent many years in Iran, as a youngster under the Shah in the 1970s, through the 1979 Islamic Revolution and more recently with his Persian wife during the Khatami and Ahmadinejad presidencies.

Nigel has a somewhat eclectic and international education. After graduating in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Bristol and having gained a scholarship from the French Ministry of Science and Research, he was awarded a research doctorate in Applied Physics from the University Toulouse. He later obtained an Executive MBA from HEC, the prestigious French Business School, and an Advanced Diploma in Persian Studies from INALCO, the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilisations in Paris. He has also been an adviser to the French Ministry of Foreign Trade.

Nigel is the author of « IRAN, Hussein's dilemma», a work of non-fiction which presents the reality of present day Iran.
