The Pre-dinner Speaker – Mr Robert Sookias

Robert is an Iranian Armenian born in Tehran, Iran. He was primarily educated in Iran, and then when his family relocated to England, received the remainder of his education in London. He began working as a property agent before qualifying as a Solicitor in March 1983. In May 1985, he established Sookias & Sookias with his brother Michael. Robert is the head of both the Property and Immigration departments. With 25 years experience and a reputation for being extremely commercial in his approach, Robert has a wide range of clients. Robert is a member of the Law Society Property Section, the Immigration Law Practitioners Association and The Lawyers Christian Fellowship.

The Post-dinner Speaker – Dr Margaret McAliskey

Dr Margaret McAliskey is a leading voice coach and vocal health care expert as well as having national and international experience with media and communications training. Widely recognised as an inspirational leader, teacher, and communicator, she has over fifteen years’ experience in speech analysis, individual and group coaching, vocal optimisation and course design. She has lectured in Trinity College Dublin on under and post graduate linguistic, communication and research based programmes. Dr McAliskey currently lectures on the International Media programme and is the International Moderator for all speech, drama and communications subjects for Trinity Guildhall Examinations London. She is also the voice trainer for the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (UK).

In her private practice, Dr McAliskey has a successful track record of working with private clients from the world of broadcasting, politics, journalism, law, education, call centres operatives and business sectors throughout the UK, Ireland and abroad.
