Mr John Willmott joined BDO Stoy Hayward LLP, the world's fifth largest accountancy network, as a Tax Associate in October 2007 following the purchase of the tax practice from Chiltern plc. John founded Chiltern in 1979 and merged it with Williams Jeffrey Barber in 1997 creating the largest independent tax advisory boutique in the UK at that time. He served as a full time client-facing director in the award-winning corporate tax team and was latterly the chairman of the company.

John's career started with the then Price Waterhouse, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. From there he joined the group taxation department of British Leyland as a corporate tax specialist. John has extensive experience advising UK and overseas groups on a wide range of both UK and international taxation issues. Mr Willmott is a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. He is also member of business tax committee of the Institute's faculty of tax and past president of Thames Valley Society of Chartered Accountants.
